Australian Local Government Association’s National Awards

The establishment of Shared Corporate Services, Latitude 12, by the East Arnhem Regional Council was commended at the Australian Local Government Association’s National Awards, 2013.

Only eighteen of the nation's 565 councils and shires were declared category winners in 2013 National Awards for Local Government.

The prestigious awards recognise the great work that local governments do in supporting their communities through creative and innovative programs.

These prestigious awards recognise the great work that the local governments do in supporting their communities through creative and innovative programs. As the tier of government closest to the people, local governments deliver important services and infrastructure for their communities.

Since 1986, the National Awards have been rewarding the best of the best with the national recognition they deserve.

These category winners were selected because they highlighted great local ideas and best practice.

This year’s category winners showcase the diversity of our local governments, with winners coming from places like East Arnhem Land, Rockhampton, Liverpool Plains, the Grampians and our major capital cities.
